Summary:PURPOSE:Cyclododecane, cyclododecanol or cyclododecanone is dissolved in halogenated hydrocarbon, acetic acid or aqueous acetic acid and the ozone oxidation is conducted in a water-repellent reactor at low temperature to produce the titled substance in high yield. CONSTITUTION:At least one of cyclododecane, cyclododecanol or cyclododecanone is dissolved in a halogenated hydrocarbon or an aqueous acetic acid of more than 70%(v/v) concentration, or acetic acid and the one-stage oxidation is conducted in a water-repellent reactor with an ozone-containing gas at 30-100 deg.C to produce the reaction mixture mainly consisting of dodecanedioic acid. the reactor can get water-repellent by the treatment with a polymerizable silicon compound such as dichlorodimethylsilane or lining with a water-repellent resin such as a silicone resin, fluororesin or polyethylene resin. EFFECT:As the rector is water-repellent, the product does not stick to the reactor. The consideration on the reaction waste is in no need.
