Summary:PURPOSE:To apply unidirectional widthwise moving force without reference to the running direction of a magnetic tape, by tapering the external circumferential surface of the rotary roller of a magnetic-tape drawing and guiding means. CONSTITUTION:A rotary roller consists of a roller shaft 8a provided to a moving body 7 and a rotary roller body 8b provided rotatably to the roller shaft 8a and having an external tapered circumferential surface, and the roller shaft 8a is provided with a flange 12 and a coming-off stopper 13. When a magnetic tape 1 is wound around the rotary roller body 8b, the tape 1 moves toward the larger-diameter part of the rotary roller body 8b according to a run unless the tape and body 8b slide mutually, and the tape is stabilized at a position where tensile force operating on the magnetic tape 1 is balanced. When the magnetic tape 1 runs backward, it moves toward the larger-diameter part and runs stably as well.
