Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the uniformity in molding and vulcanizing a tyre and enhance sealing properties for a hot pressing medium by using a crank mechanism as a means for moving an upper ring in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:The central mechanism 10 for vertically moving the upper ring 18 which holds the upper end part of a bladder 11 is comprised of a coupling rod 17 having a slider 32, a crank arm 41 which is rotated by a motor 45, and a connecting rod 47 which connects the coupling rod 17 and the arm 41 with each other. The crank arm 41 is rotated around a shaft 40 by driving the motor 47, the rotation of the arm 41 is converted into vertical motions by the connecting rod 47, and the upper ring 18 fixed to the upper part of the coupling rod 17 is moved vertically. The height level of the upper ring 18 can be adjusted by regulating gears 36, 37 in accordance with the tyre size. Since the driving device is of a mechanical system, sealing for the hot pressing medium can be accomplished easily. In addition, since heat loss is made uniform, the tyre can be molded and vulcanized uniformly.
