Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the widthwise end parts of a magnetic tape from damaging by providing a sliding body, which moves forth and back along a guide groove, with a means which holds the sliding body in such an attitude that the tape tension of the magnetic tape at the upper-end side becomes nearly equal to that at the lower-end side. CONSTITUTION:A sliding body 20a which holds a guide roller 18a and a slanting guide 19a moves along a guide groove 32a while a magnetic tape 2 is loaded or unloaded between a cylinder 14 and a cassette 33. In the middle of said movement, the slanting guide 19a slants to the cylinder 14 and the difference in running path length between the upper end 38 and lower end 39 of the magnetic tape from the exit 40 of the cassette 33 to contact points 41 and 42 with the cylinder 14 is corrected when tape tension is applied, so the upper end and lower end have nearly equal tension to swell the magnetic tape 2 upwardly, thus preventing damage by an upper flange.
