Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of banking when an earthquake occurs by a method in which pits are excavated at the lower ends or midway of slopes formed on both sides of a banking, iron bar bages are inserted into the pits, and then concrete is placed into the pits to construct underground walls. CONSTITUTION:A working path 5 is provided at the lower end of a banking 1 and pits 2 are excavated in place from the ground's surface. Iron bar cages 8 are inserted into the pits 2 and concrete is placed into the pits to form units 4a of an underground wall 4. These processes are repeated to construct the units 4a at proper intergals on both sides of the banking 1.
