Summary: | PURPOSE:A solution for external use that is prepared by adding dibenzylidene solbitol to a solution contaning an anti-inflammatory analgesic in a solvent of water, a lower alcohol, further preferably a dihydric alcohol, thus continuing the effect of the active ingredient and giving a comfortable feel, when applied. CONSTITUTION:An active ingredient, such as anti-inflammatory analgesic, e.g. methyl salicylate, is dissolved in a solvent consisting of water, a lower alcohol such as ethanol or isoprapanol and, preferably a dihydric alcohol such as propylene glycol, at a weight ratio of (5-15):(90-65):(5-15). Then, dibenzylidene sorbitol is added to the above composition by 0.05-1w/v% to give the objecctive solution for external use. This solution forms a gel, when applied on a skin and the lower alcohol evaporates up, gives comfortable feefing without sticking. Further the solution is fast effective and keeps durable effect. The solution contains a film-forming macromolecular compound by 0.1-10w/v% based on the total solution. |
