Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a good abrasion face by keeping a load applied to the abrasion face constant, always maintaining the work face horizontally, increasing the rotating speed of a work and the feed speed of an abrasive tool in inverse proportion to the radius, and abrading with the abrasive tool kept in hunting. CONSTITUTION:An abrasive head 1 provided with an abrasive tool 2 rotating around a vertical axis is moved by motors 11, 12 on a horizontal plane, and it is also pressed to a work 3 by an oil pressure cylinder 14 at a constant load. The work 3 such as a metal mold for a contact lens is rotated by a motor 6 and is also swayed by a motor 4 so that its contact face with the abrasive tool 2 is always kept horizontal. The rotating speed of the work 3 and the feed speed of the abrasive tool 2 are increased in inverse proportion to the radius of the work, which is abraded at a constant peripheral speed so as to draw spirals with an equal interval. In addition, the abrasive tool 2 is kept in hunting by the motors 11, 12 to prevent orange peel from occurring. |
