Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate replacement of an ink ribbon, by fixing a main body of a printer to a fitting plate capable of rotating with a hinge rod as a center. CONSTITUTION:The main body 2 of a printer is fixed to a printer-fitting plate 7 capable of rotating around the hinge rod 13 provided at one end thereof, while a sub-chassis 8 is rotatably fitted to the other end of the plate 7 through hinges 9. In normal use, the fitting plate 7 and the sub-chassis 8 are brought into contact with a chassis 6 while being aligned in a straight line, and the printing action is performed in the condition where the sub-chassis 8 is fixed to a locking plate 12. On the other hand, when replacing the ink ribbon 3 or a receipt paper 5, the fixing of the sub-chassis 8 by the plate 12 is released, the plate 7 is rotated with the hinge rod 13 as a center to lift up the main body 2, and the other end of the sub-chassis 8 is fixed by engaging it with a bush 11. Under this condition, the ribbon 3 or the paper 5 is replaced.
