Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance having low thermal conductivity and excellent low-temperature dimensional stability, by employing an OH-terminated polysiloxane/polyoxyalkylene glycol block copolymer obtd. by combining with ethylene oxide-propylene oxide adduct as a foam stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:In producing a polyurethane foam from a polyol component and an isocyanate component in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent, use is made of, as a foam stabilizer, a silicone block copolymer represented by the formula, wherein n is 2-3, m/n is 5/1 and x/y is 3/1. The MW of the polyether of the above foam stabilizer is in the range of 700-800. The rigid urethane foam prepared according to this process is a foam having both low thermal conductivity and good dimensional stability under low-density conditions, and is useful as a heat-insulating material for keeping warmth or cold, such as a refrigerator insulating material.
