Summary: | PURPOSE:To reduce or eliminate strain due to the difference in thermal expansion between a core material and a glass material by notching a part of glass packed in core blocks. CONSTITUTION:While parts with track width 5 are left, core blocks 1 and 2 are notched, and those notched parts are charged with reinforcing glass 3. After escape grooves 4 having less width than the notching width are made in either of said core blocks 1 and 2, the unnecessary part of the charged glass is removed. Then, a nonmagnetic layer for obtaining gap width is provided and the core blocks in an abutting state are melt-stuck by heating. The melt-stuck core block is cut into magnetic heads. Thus, the cracking of the glass part or core part, occurring during work after the melt-sticking, is suppressed to >=2%. |
