Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the fire resistance and mechanical characteristics of a molded article, by coating the surface of a molded olefinic resin article with a liquid material containing a high polymer, e.g. an alkyd resin or epoxy resin, an inorganic filler and asbestos. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a molded olefinic resin article is coated with a liquid material prepared by dissolving or dispersing (A) 100pts.wt. high polymer, e.g. an alkyd resin or epoxy resin, (B) 50-300pts.wt. preferably 100-200pts.wt., inorganic filler, e.g. alumina or silica, and (C) 20-100pts.wt., preferably 20- 50pts.wt., asbestos in the total amount of the components (B) and (C) of desirably 150-300pts.wt. uniformly in water or an organic solvent, e.g. toluene or hexane, at a coating weight preferably >=1.0kg/m or more based on the components (A), (B) and (C). |
