Summary:PURPOSE:To roll a material to be rolled in the optimum condition correspondingly to rolling condition, by changing bending controlling-condition and roll gap with thermal crown. CONSTITUTION:Detected signals from a rolling force detector 6 and a speed detector 7 are fed to a compensation quantity SPC generator 8 to apply the compensation quantity to an arithmetic controller 10. Further, each signal from the detector 6, a timer 9, a sheet thickness detector 5, and a gap detector 14 is fed to the controller 10 to compute a thermal expansion quantity delta0 of roll. Roll gap S0 is computed by an operator 13 from the delta0. Thermal expansion quantity DELTADW is obtained by the controller 10, according to the acceleration of rolling speed and the results are fed to a thermal crown conversion-device 11 to compute a roll crown changing quantity DELTACW1. The resulted signal is fed to a roll-bending controlling device 12 to give the roll-bending compensation quantity DELTAPS, corresponding to the thermal crown, to a work rolls 1 from a roll bending device 4. The control is performed continuously because the roll thermal crown varies with time.
