Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent thinning and cracking of web and fillet R part in straightening bending and defective right angles of H, I and other shape steels by making the straightening roll tapered. CONSTITUTION:The roll side face of a straightening roll 11 is not perpendicular to the circumference face 11a of the roll but tapered at an angle theta. This angle theta differs according to objective shape steel. Thus, even if large pressure is applied when a shape steel such as H, I, etc. is straightened, the steel is straightened without causing thinning and cracking at the web and fillet R part.
