Summary:PURPOSE:To load and unload a cartridge by a hook member which while enable to move forth and back horizontally behind a selected cartridge, is regulated by a control rod in an automatic cartridge changer. CONSTITUTION:Many cartridges 4 are supported by a carrier capable of moving up and down and while a cartridge to be selected is arranged opposed to a tape recorder, a carrier arm equipped with a hook member 9, a hook piece 10 and a moving body 11 is moved in a horizontal direction to bring the moving body into contact with a control rod 12, thereby loading the cartridge into the tape recorder while pressing down the hook member. For unloading it, the cartridge is drawn back to the carrier by engaging the hook piece 10 with a hooking groove 14, thus loading and unloading one of many cartridges selectively and automatically.
