Summary:PURPOSE:To remarkably enhance the corrosion resistance, especially the rust and acid resistances of the resulting ferrite stainless steel by providing a specified composition consisting of Si, Mn, Cr, Nb and the balance Fe with impurities. CONSTITUTION:This ferrite stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.01-5.00% Si, 0.01-5.00% Mn, 8.0-35.0% Cr, 0.20-1.00% Nb(Nb% >=8XC%+0.20%) and the balance Fe with impurities or further contg. one or more among 0.30-1.00% Cu, 0.20-6.00% Ni and 0.10-4.00% Mo. The amounts of C, N, P, S and O as the impurities are <=0.05%, <=0.05%, <=0.05%, <0.001% and <=0.02%, respectively.
