Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent short circuit and corrosion of a battery jar by using the battery jar made of a metal and applied with an inner layer of synthetic resin on the inside for an organic electrolyte battery. CONSTITUTION:An electrode group 3 composed of negative electrodes made of a light metal negative electrode active material, positive electrodes, and separators is housed in a battery jar container 1, which is sealed by a battery jar cover 2 having terminals 4 sealed hermetically 5, and an electrolyte made of a nonproton series solvent is injected to make up and organic electrolyte battery. The battery jar container 1 is made of a metal, e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, or an alloy mainly consisting of aluminum, and is applied with an inner layer 6 of synthetic resin on the inside. The synthetic resin made of high density polyethlene and polytetrafluoroethylen is stuitable for the inner layer 6.
