Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the variation in fuel pressure and in injection amount by radially widening the fuel passing grooves, which are provided in the case set on the outside of a plunger. CONSTITUTION:The grooves 66 equipped in a case 12 which faces the side of a plunger 32 is widened in radial direction of the plunger 32 compared with the groove width at the exit which is located in the direction of valve sheet 46. By this way of constitution, the variation in fuel pressure can be prevented. In addition, the variation in injection amount is reduced because a large space can be provided just before the valve sheet 46 and damper effect is attained in the space.
