Summary:PURPOSE:To provide continuous operation of a drain pump to its maximum discharge capacity despite a difference between the suction and discharge levels of the pump, by fitting a function generator which generates the maximum allowable blade angle curve for the level difference. CONSTITUTION:A function generator 8 provides a blade angle, being put in the level difference from a subtractor 4, for operating a pump to its maximum shaft hoursepower in accordance with the actual lift. A comparator 9 compares a blade angle set by the function generator 8 with the actual blade angle provided by a detector 12 to control a switch 10 and gear 7 for transmitting the driving force of a diesel engine 6 to a drain pump 1. As the actual blade angle is adjusted to the level set by the function generator 8, the drain pump 1 is kept in operation to its capacity, thus providing the rated discharge constantly.
