PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by controlling the driving of a carrying path, each fetching and feeding mechanism, fetching mechanism, and each part according to each mode. SOLUTION: A first carrying path area 101 of a paper money carrying path 12 is provided with an identifying part 100 in the middle, and that is always unidirectionally driven to a normal direction at the time of a supply processing, payment temporary holding in a payment processing, reception processing part, and collection processing. A second carryings path area is driven to the normal direction at the time of the supply processing and temporary holding in the payment processing, and driven to an opposite direction at the time of temporary held paper money returning in the payment processing, reception processing, and collection processing. Also, a third carryings path area is driven to the normal direction at the time of the supply processing, and driven to the opposite direction at the time of the payment processing, reception processing, and collection processing. Thus, the driving of the carrying path, each fetching and feeding mechanism, fetching mechanism, and each part is controlled according to each mode.
