Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the whole granulating machine while respective functions of kneading, granulation, and regulation of grains are provided by a method wherein a large grain chopping up means in which a grain size of a granulate of sludge like material or the like granulated rolling on a helical surface according to the helical surface of a tornade fin, is chopped up in a specific size, is provided. SOLUTION: A large grain chopping up means 15 which chops up granulate material rising while rolling along a helical surface of a tornado fin 3 in a specific size is equipped to an upper end side of the tornado fin 3. The large grain chopping up means 15 is arranged along the helical surface of the tornado fin 3, and composed of a plurality of cutter members C1 , C2 , C3 , C4 equipped by fixing specific intervals mutually apart from the tornado fin 3. The cutter members C1 to C4 are rotated integrally with the tornado fin 3. Then, intervals between respective cutter members C1 to C4 and a side wall of a casing 1 are set so as to become gradually smaller in the upward direction.
