Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save workload on a worker to take out or attach a lid covering an upper opening of an inner pot for cooking rice every time when cooking rice. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for cooking rice is comprised in a manner that rice cookers 2 are provided at a side of a rice washer 1, and inner pots 27 for cooking rice of the rice cookers 2 are moved from a side of the rice cookers 2 to a side of the rice washer 1. After cleansed rice is supplied to the inner pots 27 in the side of the rice washer 1, the inner pots 27 for cooking rice are returned from the side of the rice washer 1 to cook rice. In this case, when the inner pots 27 for cooking rice are moved from the side of the rice cookers 2 to the side of the rice washers 1, lifting up means 57 for lifting up an upper lids 47 of the inner pots 27 for cooking rice are provided.
