Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a danger avoiding device which lets someone know beforehand, when there are stairs and a step or an obstacle, etc., ahead in the direction of movement. SOLUTION: Sensors 1 (1A and 1B) in front of stairs which detect a person who is about to walk up/down the stairs 4 and also step sensors 2 (2A to 2C) which detect a person on each step of the stairs are installed. A controller 3 consists of controllers 3A and 3B which notify people, who proceed to the top or bottom of the stairs before walking down/up the stairs of information of the stairs they are about to walk up/down and a controller 3C which notifies them of information of the stairs in the midst of going up/down. By notifying information such as the presence of stairs immediately in front of the stairs, steps, etc., this allows people to prepare their minds before proceeding to them and to reduce the probability of encountering hazards. Also, by notifying how many steps remain at the present position in the middle of walking up/down of the stairs, the people are prevented from stepping forward, while expecting more steps, and the safety of walking up/down the stairs is improved.
