Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more effectively consume the power of a battery and to set the driving time of a portable information terminal to be longer, in a portable information terminal with a battery of restricted capacity as power. SOLUTION: A main control part 1, in which a battery 6 is set as power source and which is constituted of CPU 11 and a memory 12, a communication control part 2 constituted of a communication circuit 23, a memory 22 and CPU 21 for executing data communication in the memory 12 of the main control part 1, a voltage detection circuit 4 detecting the voltage of the battery 6, a power circuit 5 supplying power to the main control part 1 and the communication control part 2, and an auxiliary control part 3 which can operate with less power compared to the main control part 1 and controls the voltage detection circuit 4 and the power circuit 5 are provided. Power which the battery 6 has can effectively be consumed and the portable terminal can be operated without the exchange and re-charging of the battery for a long time.
