Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful for lubricants used for precision machines and precision parts requiring highly precise lubricity, and further useful for mold release agents, rust-preventing agents and the like. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I [R1 is an aliphatic alkyl, an alkenyl; R2 is a fluoroalkyl, a perfluoropolyether; R3 is O, S: (a) is 0-20: (b) is 0,1], e.g. a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting an α-mercapto carboxylic acid alkyl ester with a fluorine-containing halide in a solvent (e.g. methylethylketone, methylisobutylketone) preferably at 70-90 deg.C, and subsequently hydrolyzing the synthesized fluorine-containing alkyl carboxylic acid ester in the presence of a basic catalyst. The perfluoropolyether group of the compound of formula I has a structure of formula III [(k) is >=1], formula IV [(q), (p) are each 1) or formula V [R4 is a fluoroalkyl; (m) is 1-6; (n) is 1-30].
