PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably dry a gel casting molded article by a simple means in the production of the gel casting molded article without generating a defect such as a crack or the like. SOLUTION: Methanol, ethanol, n-propanol and iso-propanol are used as org. solvents (drying solvents) used in drying to dry a gel casting molded article. Concretely, the molded article is charged in the org. solvent to be held for a predetermined time and the dehydration and replacement of water with the org. solvent of the molded article are performed (drying initial period). Thereafter, the molded article is taken out of the org. solvent to be arranged in a vacuum chamber to be dried under vacuum (drying middle period). Finally, the molded article is taken out of the vacuum chamber to be heated and dried (drying post period).
