Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a heat transfer pipe in a freezing device from iced by a method wherein first refrigerant liquid is directly contacted with water and second refrigerant liquid is directly contacted with the first refrigerant liquid, respectively, to perform a heat exchanging operation and then ice is made and stored. SOLUTION: This device is comprised of a first heat exchanging section 1 in which water 5 and insoluble first refrigerant liquid 6 are directly contacted from each other, and a second heat exchanging section 2 in which the first refrigerant liquid 6 and insoluble second refrigerant liquid 7 are directly contacted with the first refrigerant liquid 6. In addition, there are provided a freezing device 3 for the second refrigerant liquid 7 and an ice water storing tank 4. Further, there are provided a first circulating means 9 for circulating the first refrigerant liquid 6, a second circulating means 10 for circulating the second refrigerant liquid 7, and a third circulating means 11 for circulating either water 5 or ice water. With such an arrangement as above, heat of water to be cooled is transferred in a path of the first refrigerant liquid 6, the second refrigerant liquid 7 and a freezing device 3, so that it may not occur that the first refrigerant liquid 6 having a possibility of containing water is circulated at the freezing device 3. Accordingly, it is possible to avoid an icing of a heat transfer pipe of the freezing device 3 and then an ice making performance is improved.
