Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating rubber composition for forming a cold shrinking tube suitable for cable connector (including terminal connector portions) members. SOLUTION: This insulating rubber composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene-propylene rubber mainly consisting of an ethylene- propylene-diene copolymer having a propylene content of from 35 to 55 wt.% and the weight average molecular weight/number average molecular weight ration of over 5 with a total of 40-120 pts.wt. of calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide, 10-90 pts.wt. of paraffin oil, 1-20 pts.wt. of carbon black and 0.5-5 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide. The insulating rubber composition possesses good electrical characteristics and an excellent processability for forming a cold shriking tube. A cold shrinking tube formed is excellent in elongation set characteristics, elongation characteristics and tracking resistance.
