Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce abrasion of teeth without increasing a diameter of a small diameter gear of a reduction gear mechanism and/or a pinion, and secure freedom of design of the reduction gear mechanism and/or a rack pinion mechanism. SOLUTION: In an electrically driven power steering device, torque of an electric motor 5 for assisting steering is transmitted to a rack pinion mechanism RP through an reduction gear mechanism 8. In such a device, traction grease 9 is applied to at least one of the reduction gear mechanism 8 and the rack pinion mechanism RP. Boundary made of glass-like solid oil film is formed between teeth of the reduction gear mechanism and/or the rack pinion mechanism. Torque is transmitted through the glass-like solid oil film, so that the abrasion of teeth is reduced.
