Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize an adsorbent unit which can efficiently remove various kinds of substances mixed in a gas to be treated by a chemical adsorbent while retaining adsorptive performance of active carbon fiber. SOLUTION: This absorbent unit 1 can remove various kinds of substances mixed in a gas to be treated and comprises a substrate 2 and an active carbon fiber group 3 containing two types of active carbon fiber seeds A, B made of active carbon fibers and implanted in the substrate 2. The active carbon fiber seeds A, B are respectively provided with chemical adsorbents different from each other for the active carbon fiber seeds. The substrate is, for example, a porous substrate. The active carbon fiber group further contains, for example, active carbon fiber provided with no chemical adsorbent. Moreover, the active carbon fibers have a large number of fine pores and the fine pores have 5-20 average diameter and 0.3-1.3 cc/g volume.
