Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a false signal from being mixed into read signal charge that does not have so much signal accumulation time and to obtain a signal that has a high S/N by providing a potential failure at a transferring part which accumulates 2nd signal charge until 2nd reading is performed. SOLUTION: At the time of t=t2, pulses V1S and V2S which correspond to a transferring part that accumulate a 2nd read signal become 'L' At the time of t=t7, the pulse V1S becomtes 'M', the pulse V2S becomes 'H' and reading of 2nd signal charge of a photoelectric conversion element of a 1st group is prepared. Since a gate that corresponds to the transferring part which accumulates the 2nd read signals is fixed to the 'L' in this way from before 1st reading of the photoelectric conversion element of the 1st group till before 2nd reading of the photoelectric conversion element of the 1st group, the leakage of a false signal which is caused by dark current, resin smear and the like, is eliminated, the 2nd read signal that has a high S/N is acquired, also, image roughness due to false signal deviation is prevented from occurring and an image quality is drastically improved.
