Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven actuator which permits holding of the operational end in any operating position without using any mechanical component to generate friction such as a clutch, brake, etc., can enhance the reliability, and is embodied in a small-sized, lightweight construction at a low cost. SOLUTION: In case the sensed angle is smaller than the target angle to a drive motor 3', a regular rotation command is sent to a pulse distributor circuit 7-2 so that the motor 3' is rotated in the regular direction, and a valve is turned in the direction of opening. In case the sensed angle is greater than the target angle, a reverse rotation command is sent to the pulse distributor circuit 7-2 so that the motor 3' is rotated in the reverse direction, and the drive shaft 1 is moved in the direction of closing. When the sensed angle is identical to the target angle, a brake command is sent to a brake circuit 7-3 so that a brake current is fed to the motor 3', and a torque balancing with the returning force of a return spring is generated, and the drive shaft is held in the present operating position.
