Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vinylon fiber or nonwoven fabric which is useful as clothing and sheets in the field of nursing and medicine by causing the fiber or fabric to carry iodine compounds for improved antiseptic property and solubility in hot water. SOLUTION: A vinylon fiber or nonwoven fabric is coated with or immersed in a solution of iodine compounds (the concentration of iodine is preferably between 0.1 and 10 wt.%) such as an aqueous solution of iodine potassium iodide or iodine sodium iodide added with any one of nonyl phenoxy polyethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol polypropylene glycol block polymer, polyvinyl pyrrolidone (the amount of coating is preferably between 0.4 and 10 g/m in dry state) and then dried. It is noted that the vinylon fiber or nonwoven fabric is preferably dissolved in hot water at 60 deg.C to 100 deg.C. |
