Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a man-made cellulose fiber, capable of giving in an advantageous way in terms of cost the aimed man-made cellulose fiber suppressed in mechanical strength drop and feel deterioration and excellent in rub resistance, color fastness, color developability and resistance to water absorption. SOLUTION: This method for processing a man-made cellulose fiber comprises the following procedure: the man-made cellulose fiber is imparted with an epoxy compound and an acidic catalyst followed by heat treatment, the resulting fiber is dyed with an anionic dye and then treated with a reaction-type cationic setting agent having a group reactive with cellulosic hydroxyl group and a quaternary ammonium group, and, furthermore, optionally, treated with an anionic softener (followed by an anionic return agent).
