Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat ray shielding glass having >=70% visible radiation transmittance and <=48% solar radiation transmittance and suitable predominantly for a warm region. SOLUTION: In this heat ray shielding glass obtd. by disposing a protective metallic layer on a silver layer, titanium dioxide layers are separately disposed just under the silver layer and on the protective metallic layer or a lower protective oxide layer based on zinc oxide or tin oxide is further formed between the lower titanium dioxide layer and the glass substrate and an upper protective oxide layer based on zinc oxide or tin oxide is further formed on the upper titanium dioxide layer.
