Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new gene which has a specific amino acid sequence, converts dibenzothiophenesulfonic acid to 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)benzenesulfinic acid, and can be used, for example, for producing an enzyme capable of easily releasing sulfur in the fossil fuel. SOLUTION: This is a new gene which codes for a protein having an amino acid sequence shown by the formula, or an amino acid sequence which one or more amino acid(s) is/are deleted from, substituted in, or inserted into the amino acid sequence shown by the formula, and has a function of converting dibenzothiophenesulfonic acid to 2-(2'hydroxyphenyl)benzenesulfinic acid, and is useful, for example, for producing a desulfurizing enzyme capable of easily releasing sulfur in the fossil fuel. This gene is obtained by preparing the whole DNA library from a thermophilic desulfurizing bacterium Paenibacillus sp. strain A11-2, followed by screening the library using a labelled partial gene of the desulfurizing enzyme as a prove. |
