Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the setup of a device, and enable the effective treatment of the surface of a work such as an optical part or an electrical part by stabilizing the output of a discharge lamp. SOLUTION: A straight pipe-type discharge lamp 12 is stored inside the body of a cleaning and modifying device, and a work storage part is provided at the lower end of the discharge lamp 12. Further, an ozone atmosphere is created in the work storage part and, at the same time, an ultraviolet light is emitted to the atmosphere. In addition, the sealing part of the discharge lamp is wrapped with a heat conductive cover 20, on the outside face of which a thermomodule 21 is, in turn, arranged. Further, a heat dissipation fin 22 is arranged on the outside face of the thermomodule 21 to keep the electrode part of the discharge lamp within a predetermined range of temperature.
