Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting apparatus, for the concentration of an ink, by which the concentration of the ink can be detected surely and without any error. SOLUTION: A drive means is driven for a prescribed time. A cylindrical electrode 2 and a cleaning roller 3 are turned. Charged particles of an ink 4 which is stuck to the surface of the cylindrical electrode 2 are removed by the cleaning roller 3 which comes into contact with them. After the drive of the drive means is stopped, a pulse voltage V is applied to a plate electrode 1 from a voltage source 5. The charged particles of the ink 4 are moved and stuck to the surface of the cylindrical electrode 2 by an electrophoretic phenomenon, and an apparent current flows to the cylindrical electrode 2. The current is read out by a current detecting means 6. On the basis of the current value of the inverse characteristic peak of an obtained current waveform, the thickness size of the charged particles stuck to the proportional cylindrical electrode 2 is recognized. The density of the ink 4 is detected surely and without any error without being affected by impurities. |
