Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize abrasion resistance even under severe sliding conditions such as high speed and sliding during conduction, by adding the particles of molybdenum disulfide heat-treated in an atmosphere of air and alumina fiber to the matrix of aluminum or aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: After heat treatment in an atmosphere of air for a preform made by mixing alumina fiber and the particles of molybdenum disulfide, the preform is immediately placed in a mold and, as matrix, molten aluminum consisting of one kind or two or ore kinds of aluminum alloy or Si: 11.0 to 13.5 wt.%, Cu: 0.50 to 1.3 wt.%, Mg: 0.8 to 1.3 wt.%, Ni: 0.50 to 1.3 wt.% and Fe: less than 1.0 wt.%, Mn: less than 0.02 wt.%, Cr: less than 0.10 wt.%, Zn: less than 0.25 wt.% including the remainder Al, and unavoidable impurities are subjected to high pressure impregnation.
