Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently, industrially and advantageously produce the subject high-purity compound useful as an agricultural germicide in high yield by reacting a salt of a specific optically active arylethoxyamine derivative with a specified N-methylmethoxyiminophenylacetamide derivative. SOLUTION: A salt of an optically active 1-arylethoxyamine derivative represented by formula I [Ar is an aryl or the like; Y is H or the like; (n) is 1-3] [e.g. (S)-1-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)ethoxyamine L-tartrate] is reacted with a compound represented by formula II (R and R are each a 1-4C alkyl or the like) e.g. N-methyl-2-[2-(1,3-dioxolan-2-yl)phenyl]-2- methoxyliminoacetamide} to produce the objective compound represented by formula III e.g. (S)-N-methyl-2-[2- 1-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl) ethoxyiminomethyl}phenyl]-2-methoxyimioacetamide.
