Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the lid of a washing machine to be locked to solve such a problem that a child opens the lid. SOLUTION: When a lock member 29 of a back cover 22 attached to the rear part of a top cover 2 of this washing machine is protruded into a hollow part 23 of the top cover 2 equipped with an entrance 24, an engaging part 31 of the lock member 29 goes under the rear end lid of the lid 25 with closed entrance 24 to inhibit rotation of the lid 25 in the direction to release the lid. The lid 25 is a two-fold type comprising rotatably connected a front lid part and a rear lid part 27, and shaft parts 27a equipped on right and left sides of the rear end part of the rear lid part 27 are rotatably supported by the top cover 2.
