Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA capable of mass-producing a uniform platelet production stimulating factor and useful for the treatment of diseases, etc., accompanied by thrombocytopenia by encoding a protein containing a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This DNA is capable of encoding a protein containing an amino acid sequence from the 22nd to the 286th residues or the 1st to the 286th residues. A transformed cell such as Escherichia coli transformed with a recombinant vector containing the DNA is preferably cultured to produce the protein.
