Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of detecting the shifted balance of a tracking error signal without using a peak hold or bottom hold circuit. SOLUTION: This disk device is provided with pickup devices 3 and 4 for reading information recorded in an optical disk 1 while performing focus servo, tracking servo and traverse servo by irradiating the optical disk 1 with optical beams, an RF amplifier 6 for extracting a focus error signal, a tracking error signal and an RF signal from the pickup devices 3 and 4, a spindle motor 2 for rotary-driving the optical disk 1, spindle servo means 9 and 10 for controlling the rotation thereof, and a control means 8 for controlling each of the servos. This device is further provided with a means 11 for detecting an off-track signal, and the shifted balance of the tracking error signal is detected by sampling the tracking error signal at the changing point of the detected off-track signal. |
