Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable also serving a rectangular type bottle washer as a case washer. SOLUTION: The rectangular type bottle washer has conveying passes 4 in which feed side passes 6 and discharge side passes 8 are arranged in parallel. In each passage, while containers held by a holder 16 of a block 14 is conveyed, washing is performed. A container feed port 10 is installed at the upstream end of the feed side passes 6, and a container discharge port 12 is installed at the downstream end of the discharge side passes 8 to feed and discharge containers. The feed side passes 6 and the discharge side passes 8 are provided with extruding means 24 and 26 for pressing blocks 14 to advance them by one pitch respectively. At the downstream end of the feed side passes 6 and at the upstream ends of the discharge side passes 8, a first lateral transfer means 28 for laterally transferring the blocs 14 is installed, and at the downstream end of the discharge side passes 8 and at the upstream ends of the feed side passes 6, a second lateral transfer means 30 for laterally transferring the blocks 14 is installed. At the upstream side of the discharge side passes 8, an opening 92 for feeding cases is formed, and also in the discharge side passes 8, washing processes C, E, F and G required for washing cases are arranged.
