SOLUTION: The Quercus crispula tree seed powder which is capable of lowering blood cholesterol and neutral lipid levels and has antioxidant function, is obtained by the following procedure: raw Quercus crispula seeds are immersed in water followed by removing the husk of the seeds, and then adding water and sodium bicarbonate or the like to the seeds followed by heating and then discarding the water; these steps are repeated several times, and the resulting seeds are dried and ground into powder. It is preferable that the above powder is formulated to prepare foods, food additives, or medicaments.
