Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant which enables two solids in contact with each other to slide on each other at low friction and abrasion in any environment of a high or low temp. or of a high or low humidity irrespective of the load or speed during sliding by using a fluorinated dicarboxylic acid as the main ingredient. SOLUTION: The fluorinated dicarboxylic acid is represented by formula I [wherein Rf is a perfluoropolyether group; R and R are each an optionally hydroxylated 3C or higher hydrocarbon group; and A and A are each an org. group of formula II (wherein R is H or a hydrocarbon group; and (m), (n), and (k) are each 0 or 1)], pref. has an average mol.wt. of 1,000-7,000, is soluble in an environmentally friendly fluorine-free solvent, and can be applied by coating, immersion, spraying, or the like, by using the solvent. Hydrocarbon solvents, ketone solvents, alcohol solvents, and ester solvents are pref. as such solvents, hexane being an example. |
