PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast slab supporting device, by which the bulging in the continuously cast slab is prevented and the number of repairing times of the equipment is reduced. SOLUTION: Backup rolls 2 having large diameter are disposed in the cast slab supporting rolls 1 to restrain the reflecting quantity of the cast slab supporting roll 1 to small. Relating to the backup rolls 2, a pressurizing means is arranged and it is desirable to make the deflecting quantity of the cast slab supporting roll 1 adjustable. This backup roll 2 is desirable to have a structure that it is brought into contact the cast slab supporting roll 1 so as to be rollable and both ends are fixed to a frame 5 through bearings 4a, 4a and the deflection of the cast slab supporting roll 1 is prevented. The length of the backup roll 2 may be shorter than the barrel part of the cast slab supporting roll 1. In order that the backup rolls 2 restrain the deflection at the center part of the cast slab supporting roll 1, it is preferably arranged near the center part of the cast slab supporting roll 1.
