Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis adjusting method whereby optical axis adjustments can be performed automatically and a light transmission device using the same. SOLUTION: A light transmission device comprising a light emitting unit 1 and a light receiving unit 2 is provided at the light emitting unit 1 with a light emission circuit 6 and an optical axis X-Z control circuit 7 which controls the emission angles of laser beams to swing the laser beams vertically and horizontally, and is provided at the light receiving unit 2 with a light reception circuit 12, a light input detection circuit 13 for detecting a waveform amplitude value, a peak light quantity detection circuit 14 for monitoring the detected amplitude value and for detecting and storing a maximum value, and a comparison circuit 15 which compares the detected amplitude value with the maximum amplitude value and transmits an optical axis coincidence signal when determining that they are coincident. Means 4 (wire) for transmitting the optical axis coincidence signal from the light receiving unit 2 to the light emitting unit 1 in the form of an electric signal are provided.
