Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a position by reducing a bending moment in the longitudinal direction of a recording medium and fixing a body and the recording medium to a machine tool or the like without deforming them. SOLUTION: A position detecting device detects the relative moving position between a reference part 4 that relatively and linearly moves and a movable part. A rod-shaped recording medium 12 is provided in an enclosure 11 of a body part 2 of the position detecting device. The enclosure 11 and the reference part 4 are fixed by a fixing member 55 consisting of a curved surface where the contact surface with the enclosure 11 has a curvature only in a direction that is parallel with the longitudinal direction of the recording medium 12. |
