Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a temperature gradient of a skit gentle to decrease thermal stress and ensure the safety of a self-supporting tower by installing a thermal conduction promoting material on a skirt part in the vicinity of a skirt fitting part of a vessel main body. SOLUTION: A thermal conduction promoting material 6 is stuck extending over a designated length to the outer peripheral surface of the upper part of the skirt joined to a skirt fitting part of a vessel main body 1. Heat near the skirt fitting part is favorably transmitted to the axial lower side of a skirt 2 by the thermal conduction promoting material 6 to be dispersed to the lower side so that a temperature gradient becomes gentle. As the thermal conduction promoting material 6, a copper plate with a thickness 10% or more of the board thickness of the steel plate-made skirt 2 is stuck in the range of about 0.5 m from the skirt fitting part to the lower side. Thus, as compared with the conventional structure in which only a skirt of general steel is installed, the axial temperature gradient of the skirt can be remarkably relaxed so that a thermal stress at this part caused by a sudden temperature change can be lightened.
