Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold rolling method and rolling equipment which are suitable to the rolling the metallic materials. SOLUTION: In this rolling method, an extremely thin strip S is rolled by using a cold DR mill consisting of plural cold rolling stands 1, 2 for reducing thickness in an early stage part and a skin pass rolling stand 3 for executing skin pass rolling in the post-stage part. In such a case, by arranging a variable crown roll 4 having a concave crown in close vicinity of the outlet side of the skin pass rolling stand 3 of the final stand, rolling is executed by adding tension to the strip S in the spreading direction.
